VILLAGE ADOPTION CELL

Vision

To facilitate integrated and holistic development of the village.

Mission

To create awareness on social issues and environmental problems. To create necessary understanding of basic needs of life, such as sanitation, pure drinking water, small family etc. To make them socially responsible citizens. To enhance knowledge through skits and street plays.

The Village Adoption Cell of Sarah Tucker College, having been adopted as a part of Unnat Bharath Abhiyan, an initiative by the Government of India held its members meeting on 01.03.2019. Members of the Village Adoption Cell of all departments were present. UBA had selected 5 villages for the college (Reddiyarpatti, Rajavalipuram, Sivanthipatti, Manapadai Veedu,and Aaraikulam) Mrs. S.Cephas, Assistant Professor of Computer Science offered the Opening Prayer.The agenda of the meet was to select the cluster groups for pre-survey.The cluster groups were selected on a lot basis.

• Tamil, Botany, Food Science and Nano Science will visit Rajavalipuram.
• English, History and English S/F (Shift I & Shift II) will visit Sivanthipatti.
• Zoology, Physics, PG Zoology and Physics (S/F) will visit Manapadaiveedu.
• Economics, Chemistry, Computer Science (Shift I & Shift II), MCA & BCA will visit Aaraikulam.
• Maths (R), Maths (S/F), Commerce (R) and Commerce (S/F) will visit Reddiyarpatti.
• The members were instructed about the procedure to conduct the pre-survey.
• Meeting the VAO and filling the form.
• Taking the students for a street walk.
• Taking pre-survey using App and uploading report and photos.
• The pre-survey will be conducted after the II CIA tests.
• Departments to advance money towards expenses.
• On successful completion of the pre-survey, the expenses (Rs. 15,000) will be reimbursed by UBA.
